I'm a manufacturing graduate. After years working in this industry, I needed to find something better suited to my physical abilities. I began my own craft business. I now work from home, selling my handmade creations via my online shop and at various craft markets. I only discovered my love of creative writing after starting a craft blog.
My passions include craft, art, music and food. I try to always stay positive and to live life to the full. I would like to help in educating the community about the struggles of living with a disability. I would also like to help improve access to services for those of us who need them.
A report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics recently looked at the cost of living. It suggests energy costs have not risen in real terms for the past 20 years. But I do not fit into the category of an average Australian. My bills now seem very high. I now earn a lot less than I used to. I also have much higher bills from being at home more. I have tried to reduce my electricity consumption. I have installed fans, curtains and sky-lights. But I would like to do more. I would like to hear your tips for saving energy and money.

I forget that I look different to most people when out in public. I use an oxygen bottle. I push it around on a trolley everywhere I go. I had never met anyone else of my age in a similar situation before. But then I meet a young woman at a market. She had an oxygen bottle like me. At first I felt sad that she was so young. But then we had a good chat. It has made me think differently about how I see others.
